We have room to ride the horses around the pasture, and a few acres of trails through the woods.

McDodi Farms now offers training. We are able to offer board and training for trail horses and show horses. Marco Suarez and his assistants are on board ready to help you with your horse needs. We can put the finishing touches on older horses or start young ones with a gentle hand. We are situated on 91 acres of pasture and forest to train on and have a trail obstacle course set up to play with. We can take in horses for training from trails to rails, or just wonderful care for boarding.

Someone on the group, maybe Theresa, was asking about the trainer at Dodi's. I had a horse up there in training. He is my favorite horse and I really didn't want to take him ("cause he was missed), but he needed more than I could give him to get him going.

My horse was lucky getting Marco to spend time with him. He came home with the same wonderful personality, and he could WALK.

I was so excited to have Clifford home, but now regret not being able to leave him longer. Marco did a great job, and I am planning sending my champagne stud colt up there shortly.

Clifford

The rain finally went through and I got to ride Clifford. All I can say is thanks. He is wonderful, still has his personality, and he WALKS. Thanks to Marco and whoever else got him to where he is!!!

2 Part Story:

I had the good fortune to visit McDodi Farms this weekend, and drop a horse off, and get a riding lesson. I wanted to let everyone know that if you ever get a chance to visit and enjoy the hospitality, facilities, and the horses, I highly recommend it. Jim, Dodi, Marco, and everyone else up there were fantastic.

Dodi,
Wanted to write and let you know how nice we felt your open house went, despite the lousy weather.
It was really nice to tour your barn and see so many happy horses. This is the FIRST time we have dropped off a horse for training and felt 100% at ease. Sure I will miss Coal, but it's so much easier knowing he's in good hands.
We left your place with our tummies full and minds at ease.
Thank you for the nice hospitality.

Subject: Shi'annes 1st big ride

Hi,

We took Shi on a big ride today. We trailered all the horses to Parry Haynes. There were 9 of us all together. We went up hills, down hill (1 pretty big one), thru water, and into a pond. At the 1st water crossing she looked at it, but once she put her foot in it and realized it was water she went straight thru it. At the pond she drank a little and then started pawing it, so my husband got her out real quick (darn it). Not once did she spook at anything. She did everything that was asked of her. We also noticed that she was very relaxed with all the horse and were she was at. We also had saddle bags on the back of the saddle full of stuff.

I can tell you she did better than my old mare. She has great manners and did not mind where she was put in line. Everyone of our friends were very impressed with her. They all said Fili did a great job. I'm sure they'll tell everyone they know about this and him.

We also went to the Gaited Clinic yesterday that Paco had in Florence. I was talking to his wife and found out that Fili and he are brothers. I told her I could tell by their mannerisms and some of the training tech.

Just thought I would let you know about her big ride, and it also lasted for 4 hrs. They all where a bit tired when we got back. And so were we.

Take care.

Thank Fili for doing such a great job. He is the best.........

Connie

Dodi,
Connie may have already emailed you, but I rode Shi Anne yesterday and she did perfect. She is quiet, but moves out when asked. Fili did a great job!!! She was a pleasure to ride. I cantered her a little and she just cantered along at a relaxed pace.  We used an argentine snaffle and that seemed to work pretty well. On the subject of bits. Would you ask Fili if that bit he showed me to try on Cash had 6” or 8” shanks. It looked like fairly short shanks, so I think they were 6”, but I want to doublecheck. I found a website where I can order the shanks and the middle as separate pieces so I can get what I need. Thanks,
Sarah Goss

We went on an 1.5 hr ride.  Shi did great.  Didn't spook at anything.  Fili did a great job.  I will recommend he and you to everyone that has a walker that needs to be trained.  I know our one friend will be sending her girl to you in Sept (I think).  Thanks for everything.  Sincerely, Connie
